Advanced Polish (Slavic 115B)

Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, UC Berkeley

This course was a contunuation of Slavic 115A. I finished the second part of the textbook Hurra. Po polsku, and followed the same methodology as in the previous semester.

As a mid-semester project, students prepared presentations on interesting aspects of Polish grammar, such as 'moving' endings, dual, as a category that ceased to exist, why we say pies but psa, or Polish dialects. I assigned a chapter from ABC polszczyzny by Jan Miodek to each topic which students read inependently and prepared handouts in advance to their talks.
